A RAIN-AFFECTED result saw Oxenhope return to the top of Halifax League Division One with victory at home to Southowram.

Liam Dyson (63), Jack Barker (51) and Joe Ousey (41no) were the major contributors in a strong home batting performance, culminating in a total of 255-6, which was later reduced to 200 due to weather delays.

In reply, the visitors only reached 143 all out, with three wickets each for Nathan Storton, Scott Mallinson and Dyson.

The highlight for Oxenhope II's in their abandoned match at Northowram Hedge Top was a Luke Fleetwood hat-trick.

That saw the hosts dismissed for just 111 as Fleetwood took 3-34 and Spencer Mawer also claimed 3-47. Oxenhope had progressed to 52- 2 before the weather intervened.
