DIVISION One leaders Bingley Congs were just getting on top at Street Lane when the weather intervened in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.

The Beckfoot Lane side posted 161-8 in their 30 overs, with Andy Blackburn making 34 not out and Wasim Hussain taking 5-37.

Ingrow St John’s were on the back foot at 27-3 when the elements closed in.

Second-placed Haworth were at Foulridge, where no play was possible, and it was a similar prognosis for third- placed Crossflatts, who were at Denholme.

Duncan Ward (74) had helped Embsay to 173-8 in 31.3 overs when they declared at Cure Hill, but Oakworth were unable to make a start to their innings and the match was abandoned.

At Sutton, Foulridge were dismissed for 112, with James McDonald taking 4-28.

The home side were chasing that down when play halted with the score at 68-2 in the 17th over, with Sam Solley (34no) and Jonny Wilkinson (24no) in full flow.

Another side to be thwarted were Haworth Road Meths at Riddlesden.

The Grange Road side had been knocked over for 136 in 30 overs, with Mohammad Mansha (38) and Aftab Khan (32) being the main run-getters as Muhammad Zahid, Sikandar Mehmood and Amer Mavia took three wickets apiece.

Zahid (38) was leading the charge towards, with Haworth Road at 49-1 in only eight overs.

There was a clash of leading duo in Division Two, with front-runners Wilsden 56-1 (Glenn Stapleford 37no) in their pursuit of Haworth Road II’s 184 when stumps were drawn.

For the Baildon Bottom side, Rob Greenwood (43) and Paul Rodwell (37) were the main contributors as Rafaquat Mehmood took 3-49.

Sean McEvoy (35no) and Tom Hawksworth (32) had help third placed Hepworth & Idle to 177-9 at Hainworth as Jake Holt took 5-56. Ingrow were 27-2 at the close.

Oakworth II clung on for a point at Airedale.

Paul Carter (10no) and Tom Fothergill (6no) faced 66 balls to get to 8pm with Oakworth's score on 95-7, the bulk of which was made by James Lee (56).

The hosts had posted an impressive 227-7, with Mathew Cox (73) in the runs again to go with Matthew Gill (54) and Mick Feather (36no).

Barrowford may have miscalculated at Bradley.

They walloped an impressive 330-6 but perhaps an earlier declaration would have given them more time to have a go at the home side, who were 19-0 when play was abandoned.

Over in west Craven, in the battle of the bottom two – Thornton and Ingrow St John’s II – it was the former who snaffled the points.

The Street Laners were back in the hut for 119 but the hosts were deeply indebted to Kevin Pollard (71no) as they got home by three wickets.

In Division Three, Long Lee maintained their two-point lead over Cononley after their game at Bingley Congs II was washed out with the hosts 21-1 in reply to 155-8.

Lee Humphreys (65) and Mark Day (36) were the mainstays of the Golden View side's score.

Cononley were in with a great chance of taking the points at Crossflatts II after dismissing the home side for 87, Anthony Haigh (5-30) and Lewie Fitton (3-13) doing the damage.

The visitors stood at 11-1 when play was halted.

Bradford & Bingley III were making heavy weather of their innings, being 37-0 after 26.1 overs in reply to third- placed Sandy Lane’s 166-9.

Will Smith (43) and Chris Lambert (58) put on 109 for Gargrave’s first wicket to help them to 189-6, but visitors Denholme II were hustled out for a paltry 41, of which Michael Dennison made 24.

Stuart Weatherill (6-27) and Ben Rhodes (3-0) were the destroyers in chief.

Another side to take all three points were Skipton CI, who took on Eldwick & Gilstead at Sandylands.

The visitors made 129 (Arnie Raistrick 39) as Alex Horsfield took 3-31. Ian Henderson (64no) led to CI to an eight-wicket victory.

Riddlesden II were at Embsay II and went down to a 31-run defeat.

The Shires Laners were indebted to veteran Brian Hodgson’s knock of 52 not out to get them to 100.

Then two more seasoned campaigners – Simon Holt (6-24) and Stephen Speak (3-20) – had the visitors back in the hut for 66.

In Division Four, Gargrave II were in the driving seat at Bronte Fields when play ceased.

Ryk Taylor (56) and Tony Boreham (37) had helped the Skipton Road side to 198-8 before Bingley Congs III slumped to 39-5, with opener Ben Nattrass 28 not out.

Cowling II went down to Foulridge II by seven wickets at The Coliseum.

Peter Hatton was the star of Cononley II's four-wicket victory over Oakworth III in south Craven.

He took 5-41 to go with Mark Pickles' 3-24 as the Cure Hill side were restricted to 129, with Graham Fothergill top- scoring with 60.

Hatton then made 27 not out to see his side over the line at 134-6.

Haworth II entertained Bradley II and took the points by three wickets.

The Matthew Lane side managed a modest 87, with No 10 Vince Grant top-scoring with 24 as Neil Rollin (5-7) and Will Yildiz (3-33) did the damage.

Danny Spencer (50no) took the Bronte side to the spoils, despite Grant’s 4-38.

Sutton II were in with a chance of taking the spoils at Sandy Lane II.

Muhammed Ulfat (76) was the backbone of the Greenwood Park side's 157 as Kane Booker took 4-34.

The Royd Hill side stood at 31-2 at the close.

There was no play at Long Lee II, Wilsden II, Glusburn II or Barrowford II.
