CONONLEY Cricket Club opened its doors to the general public last Sunday as part of the England and Wales Cricket Board's programme of getting more people interested in the sport.
The open day was sponsored by Waitrose and over 200 people were there to watch cricket matches of all ages throughout the day, have a go at Kwik Cricket and enjoy a barbecue alongside traditional cake stalls. The annual event raised £700 which will be invested back into the club.
Cononley has a thriving junior section with under-11s and under-17s teams and welcomes players of all ages and abilities.
Cononley's first team are enjoying a good season, currently sitting second in the Craven League Third Division.
