CLUBS in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League have received a couple of Christmas gifts from the league’s executive committee.

In her report to the annual meeting at Cross Hills Social Club, league secretary Ann Coe said: “One achievement this year that I am particularly delighted with is the fact that I have managed to get our treasurer (Richard Webster) to relax his tight grip on our funds.

“No seriously, the executive has voted in favour of using some of the league’s monies to support clubs.

“Next year (2017), and for one year only, the league will pay the YCB (Yorkshire Cricket Board) affiliation fees.

“That’s £45 per club and £15 per team.

“The league will also pay the Groundsmen’s Association (fee), which is £8 per club.”

Webster also reported a profit on the season of £687.51, boosted by what is believed to be a record fines income of £1,690, and £4000 was transferred to the league’s Skipton Building Society account.
