THE All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League's management committee are set to look into an astonishing Priestley Shield first-round tie at Pudsey St Lawrence.

Saints set a record Shield score of 545-4 but Brighouse then declared their innings after just one ball and forfeited the match.

The league will study the report of match umpires Brian Atkinson and Dave Parker, but Brighouse could be guilty of a breach of the spirit of cricket.

What is certain is that three further records were broken in addition to that highest team total.

Wicketkeeper Jack Allman's sizzling 258 is believed to be the highest score in any Bradford League cup or league match.

With Harry Cullingford making a splendid unbeaten 206, which included 11 sixes and 22 fours, it is the first occasion that two batsmen have made double centuries in the same match.

And the third-wicket stand between Allman and Cullingford of 459 is easily the highest in the competition's history, as well as being the biggest in any Bradford League competition.

Meanwhile, Ossett and Brook Walton are facing punishment after forfeiting their ties for not being able to field a team.

On any other day, Bowling Old Lane's 323-9 at Buttershaw St Paul's would have been a contender for the highest score.

Old Lane were making sound progress through Adeel Nazir (46), Rashid Ramzan (44) and Zubair Najeeb (39) before Adam Zahid increased the tempo with a rousing 87.

Don Bolland was St Paul's best bowler with 4-44.

Dermot McGrath, the man who led East Bierley to a record-breaking hat-trick of Priestley Cup wins, marked a rare appearance for St Paul's by top scoring with 47 as they were dismissed for 122, Ahsan Alishan taking 7-27.

Holders Woodlands eased into the second round as they defeated Townville by 70 runs.

Jack McGahan (60), Jack Bleazard (49) and Kieron Collins (40) helped Woodlands post 257-8.

Conference side Townville made 187, with Steve Walton scoring 49. Rob Medcalf (4-25) and John Hill (3-50) were the best of the Woodlands bowlers.

Hanging Heaton, last season's beaten finalists, recorded a nine-wicket win over Baildon.

Openers Francis Nelson (60no) and Oliver Newton (56) shared a partnership of 112 as Hanging Heaton cruised past Baildon's 127.

George Barker top-scored for them with 54 as spinner Jamie Baulk (4-32) and Mick Horner (3-35) shared the bowling honours.

Rhys Jowett made an unbeaten 102 for Lightcliffe but it wasn't enough to save them from a three-wicket defeat against East Bierley.

Jowett dominated Lightcliffe's innings of 226, with his only real support coming from David Knight (37).

East Bierley were carried to victory by James Higgins and Liam Walsh, who both made 56.

The closest finish was at Morley, where the home side edged a three-run win over Championship Division One leaders Gomersal.

Tom Medley and Richard Winn both made 42 as Morley were dismissed for 146, with Lewis Edmond taking 4-22.

Gomersal looked as if they might edge victory until they lost Daniel Grant for 38.

Hartshead Moor, from Championship Two, put up a good fight against Premier Division Pudsey Congs.

Louis Brooke scored 58 in Moor's 179 and followed up with 3-54 as Congs reached their target with seven wickets down.

Jacques Allen top-scored with 34, while Adam Patrick made 32 not out to follow up his 4-33 earlier.

An unbroken third-wicket stand of 102 between Ashley Battye (59no) and Dave Kibler (67no) saw East Ardsley secure an eight-wicket win over Wakefield St Michael's.

Brian Knowles had dominated the St Michael's innings with 82 of their 148, Liam Egley (4-29) and Julian Smith (3-5) sharing the bowling honours.

Birstall were rolled over for 83 as Yeadon secured a nine-wicket win, with Ryan Heptinstall (3-6) and Alex Robinson (3-23) doing most of the damage.

Wrenthorpe might have fancied their chances of upsetting Premier Division side Farsley when they made 215-6, but the Red Lane outfit chased down the target to win by five wickets, with Barry Tempest hitting 74 not out.

Wrenthorpe had built their score around Matthew Race (62no) and Craig Lowe (50).

Crossbank Methodists may be a Conference side but they posted a respectable 202-9 against Premier Division New Farnley.

Nigel James led the way with 71, and Shazad Riaz made 35 as Chris Sowden picked up 4-28.

Sowden then crushed Crossbank's hopes as he smashed four sixes and 15 fours in an unbeaten 104, and was joined in an opening stand of 138 by Cameron Wallis (65) as New Farnley secured a nine-wicket win.

There were two big partnerships in the tie between Undercliffe and Batley, which the Premier Division side won by six wickets.

Richard Skillicorn (74) and Hassaan Sheikh (61) came together with Undercliffe struggling at 20-3, reviving them with a stand of 158.

Their efforts enabled Undercliffe to make 207-7 as Mohammad Yaqoob picked up 4-36.

Batley were powered to victory by Roheil Hussain, five sixes and 12 fours flowing from his bat in a fine 100.

Bilal Abbas (46) joined him in a decisive second-wicket stand of 134.

Methley's Dave Winter was another century maker.

His 108 guided his side to 262-7 as they defeated Adwalton by 65 runs, half-centuries from Josh Neal (53) and Richard Smart (51) helping to swell the score.

Dean Jackson (57) and James Emmett (37no) helped Adwalton to a respectable 197, Charlie McMurran taking 4-20 and Winter 3-16.

An unbroken third-wicket stand of 109 between Richard Noble (53no) and Shahid Rehman (58no) guided Cleckheaton to an eight-wicket win over Northowram Fields.

Louis Cockburn top-scored with 62 for Northowram Fields.
