ANDREW Robinson producing a match-winning spell of 6-35 as leaders Scholes defended their modest score of 106 to secure a 59-run win over Gomersal in All Rounder Cricket Bradford League Championship Division One.

Robinson and Yassir Ali (4-7) bowled out Gomersal for 47 to enable their side to retain the leadership with a 12-point advantage over second-placed Wrenthorpe.

Skipper James Stansfield was the only batsman to master the bowler-friendly conditions, making an unbeaten 51 after former Scholes player Joe Duffy (3-33) had threatened to spoil his old club's day.

James Glynn (49) and Greg Wood (41) helped second-placed Wrenthorpe to 197-8 as they defeated Birstall by 72 runs.

Jaymish Patel was the pick of the Birstall bowlers with 5-68.

Birstall, who recently beat Wrenthorpe in the Priestley Cup, were bowled out for 125.

Eric Austin, playing against his old club, top-scored with 45 as Jonathan Rudge took 4-36 and Glynn 3-18.

Third-placed Methley maintained their challenge with a four-wicket victory over Ossett.

Josh Sullivan again impressed with the ball, taking 4-22 in  Ossett's 112.

Naveed Sayeed (41) and Richard Whitehurst (39) provided the bulk of Ossett's runs, and Methley took 33 overs in reaching their target.

Undercliffe skipper Scott Etherington was the division's only century maker.

He made 120, and was supported by Toby Thorpe (49) as his side made 221-6 to set up their 66-run win over Yeadon.

Skipper Damon Gormley made a battling 47 and Alex Robinson scored 42 not out as Yeadon were all out for 155.

Once again the Undercliffe new-ball pair of Zeeshan Qasim (3-17) and Craig Wiseman (3-46) did good work but Morley opening bowler Matthew Dowse produced the day's best figures of 8-44 as he bowled his side to a 94-run win over Baildon.

Thanks to Dowse, Baildon were dismissed for 97, with only Mushtaq Ahmed (35) offering much resistance.

Morley, batting first, had made 181-7, thanks largely to 50 from wicket-keeper Luke Heinemann, plus useful knocks from James McNichol (37) and Jak Murphy (30).

Paceman Waqas Maqsood was Baildon's best bowler with 3-60.

Skipper James Lee (5-48) and Kamran Siddique (4-33) impressed as Bankfoot climbed out of the bottom two with a six-wicket win.

Former Yorkshire paceman Lee and Siddique, playing against his old club, bowled out Old Lane for 128, a score which featured 36 from Farakh Hussain and 33 from Abid Alishan.

Bankfoot eased to victory with Hisan Ahmed making 32 as Arsalan Ijaz took 4-32.
