STEETON remain comfortable in mid-table in Aire-Wharfe League Division Two despite defeat by promotion chasers Follifoot.

Adel's win over Addingham at the weekend means only one more spot in Division One is up for grabs, and Follifoot were ruthless in their pursuit of it with a 95-run victory.

The visitors batted first and were all out for 178, with captain Paul Angrove the stand-out performer as he racked up 56 runs.

Follifoot's bowlers took no prisoners, with Steeton all out for 83 as just three batters hit double figures - John Akrigg, Jake Starkey and Gary Boulton, the latter bowling impressively despite defeat too with 3-26.

It was a similarly disappointing day for Harden, who sit third-from-bottom in Division Three after a 129-run loss at the hands of Menston.

Menston's seventh-wicket partnership of David Heslop (108 not out) and Zarshad Khan (102 not out) set a first team league record as they racked up 176 runs on the team's way to setting a target of 301.

Joshua Brooksbank got Harden's chase off to a flying start with a score of 67, but his teammates couldn't follow in his footsteps, with seven of the next 10 batsmen failing to hit double figures after he was caught out.

Those underwhelming performances, and good bowling from Amer Ayoub (5-48), meant Harden were all out for 172 and condemned to their eighth defeat of the season.
