Oxenhope placed in West Yorkshire League's Second Division

Oxenhope FC were last week admitted into the West Yorkshire Football League at the league's AGM held at the West Riding County FA Headquarters at Woodlesford, Leeds.

Committee members from Oxenhope were welcomed into the league by over 100 members from the 76 teams that make up the league's five divisions.

Oxenhope will start in Division Two and have local games against Sandy Lane, Baildon, Wyke and Brighouse but will have to travel as far a field as Tadcaster and Boston Spa. The club are in the process of arranging team transport for players to away matches.

All clubs in the West Yorkshire League have to hold Charter Standard and Oxenhope achieved the qualification this year. The league season commences on Saturday, August 16.

More good news for the club was that their reserve team have been promoted to the Premier Division of the Craven League, following the first team's elevation to the West Yorkshire League.

In other Craven League news Ingrow & Worth Village will join Division Three along with two other new teams, Long Preston and Colne FC Juniors. Four new reserve teams from Barnoldswick Barons, Long Lee Juniors, Pendle Athletic and Silsden Whitestar have also been placed in Division Three.

Settle United's first team have re-joined the league and have been put in Division One while new teams from Wilsden and Ravenscliffe have been placed in Division Two.

Oxenhope's training has already commenced at the club's Recreation Ground in Oxenhope at 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Old and new players welcome.
