First-round losers entered the A Crabtree Handicap, which was won by Worth Valley junior Thomas Johnson, of Oxenhope.

Cross Roads A are the champions of Division One in the Hebden Bridge League, while Cross Roads B and possibly Lund A face the drop. Cullingworth A look destined for the drop in Division Two but could be replaced by their own B team, who are champions of Division Three.

The Valley Handicap is scheduled for Keighley BC on Sunday. Draw details from Mick Demain as usual.

Three Skipton League Cup finals have been completed. In the Division One Ken Johnson Trophy, Sutton A met Craven A at Cross Hills and, despite the winners being shared, always looked likely victors after on-loan Peter Hepworth gave them a great start. Some Craven players looked below par and only Viv Abell showed much resistance.

In the Richard Lambert Cup Final at Broughton Road, Gargrave B and Whinfield A also shared the winners but Gargrave proved too good at the last push-up.

In the Division Three final for the Alan Ellis Salver, Craven B made up for their first team’s poor effort by easily defeating Silsden PF B. SPF had qualified with a sensational victory over Sutton B, having only one winner out of seven in Richard Gaffney, but were no match for Craven despite having three winners – Gaffney again, John Cobb and Joan Brown.
