SILSDEN left most of their form at home when they travelled to the new venue of Heckmondwike in the Yorkshire ABA's Top Lady team event for league winners.

The Cobbydalers, who performed poorly, shared the winners with Rufford Park in their first group game and won overall after good efforts by Liz Bland, Carol Uttley, Christine Hasselbank and Pauline Lightowler.

But in game two they were no match for holders and past winners New Mill B, with only Lightowler recording a victory.

New Mill go forward to next year’s spring final.

Addingham recorded the only success for local teams when they finished as runners-up in the Aire-Wharfe Wednesday League Division Two behind Ilkley B – not a bad effort on a playing surface that leaves a lot to be desired!

The Skipton Floodlit League has also come to a conclusion.

Division One was comfortably won by Cononley, ahead of Colne Cricket and Devonshire, while Keighley won the Second Division by a similar margin in front of Cross Hills, with Colne Legion A and Settle sharing third place.

Division Three finished with Colne Legion B on top ahead of Gargrave B and Whinfield A, while Lund Park B won Division Four, with Steeton B runners-up.

That is about it for this season but hopefully there will be better weather in 2016, plus more support for local events.
