KEIGHLEY'S Jacob Snowdon, still a Class B rider in age-group circles, won Class A at Yeadon-Guiseley Motor Club's Ninth Closed to Club Trial at Dob Park on Sunday.

Some major national contenders were among the 74-strong field, 50 of whom rode the full ten-section, four-lap Dob Park course, while 24 youngsters did their own thing on a separate eight-section, three-lap course in the adjoining Browns’ Wood.

Class A boy Keiran Child, from Bradford, had smashed the rear wheel on his Beta, giving Jacob his chance, and he took it with his seventh place on the hard course.

The small-wheels detachment were shepherded across the road into the darkness of Browns Wood, where a carpet of fallen leaves hid rocks and roots.
