CULLINGWORTH'S Ellie Bowden and Keighley's Cara Harbourne struck gold as Horizon Taekwondo Academy finished the top team in the Yorkshire Open Championships in Bradford.
Ellie was one of three Great Britain development athletes to top the podium at Richard Dunn Sport Centre, along with Lauren Watson and Thomas Henley, while Silsden's Jamie Kidd claimed a silver. Cara won her first gold, winning her match in style in her novice group.
Horizon, which has clubs in Silsden and Keighley as well as across Bradford and over the border in Lancashire, earned a total of seven golds, 12 silvers and 16 bronzes to give them a winning total of 101 points.
The tournament hosted 300 competitors and a crowd of approximately 700 enjoyed watching World Taekwondo Federation Olympic sparring contests. Teams came from as far a field as Ireland, Switzerland, France and Malta.
Three-year-olds Alfie Maroney and Jayden Simpson-Kidd, both from Silsden, also put on an entertaining exhibition match.
