KEIGHLEY'S Shamraiz Nadim has progressed to the next stage in the England Boxing junior and cadet championships.
The Bury Amateur Boxing Club youngster stopped Chorley opponent Arqam Patel in the second round at Accrington to advance from the Greater Manchester finals.
The 14-year-old is due to compete against the Midlands winner in the pre quarter-final this weekend.
Shamraiz is the younger brother of Ibrahim, who reached the final of the National Association of Boys’ and Girls’ Club Championships last year, and cousin to Keighley's Olympic boxing hopeful Muhammad Ali.
His trainer Mike Jelley said: "Shamraiz did very well. His opponent was given a standing count before the fight was stopped."
