BRYDAN Klein has kept the British flag flying today among the men in the AEGON Ilkley Trophy.
The 26-year-old wild card defeated Slovenia's Grega Zemjla 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 6-3 in the 42,500 euros ATP Challenger Tour event to book himself a quarter-final tomorrow against Ryan Harrison, from the United States.
Other confirmed last-eight ties are between top seed Jordan Thompson (Australia), who has a world ranking of 90, and unseeded Frenchman Vincent Millot and second seed Yen-Hsun Lu (Taipei) and Argentina's Renzo Olivo.
In the $50,000 ITF Women's Pro Circuit, which is running alongside the men's tournament, Samantha Murray is the only surviving Briton.
The 28-year-old wild card from Stockport, who has a world ranking of 664, will meet second seed Evgeniya Rodina (Russia), who is world ranked 551 places higher, in the last 16.
