Yorkshire Hockey Association Women's Division Five North: Tadcaster Magnets Seconds 3 Airedale Seconds 0
AIREDALE captain Nic Heeley was determined to get something from this match but Tadcaster proved too tough.
She owned the pitch at times, often moving out of her midfield position and supporting wherever needed.
However, Tadcaster opened the scoring following a short corner and they built on their momentum to lead 2-0 at the break.
The visitors stepped up their game in the second half and dominated the left wing.
Libby Marsh and Georgia Ramshaw made darting runs to put Tadcaster under pressure. Niamh O’Reilly battled relentlessly up front but she was restricted by the home defence.
Airedale kept pressing Tadcaster, while Lindsey Carey produced some impressive hit-outs in an attempt to move the ball forward.
But the hosts extended their lead. Goalkeeper Claire White saved a shot on goal but her clearance was not strong enough and Tadcaster scored from the rebound.
