JOCKEYS, stable hands, fascinators and even an inflatable horse took over the Cricketers Arms in Baildon as Airedale Hockey Club’s ladies second team hosted a race night to raise funds for a pitch and clubhouse.

The night was praised for the excellent entertainment and fantastic organisation.

Airedale Ladies seconds captain Nic Heeley, who led the event, said: “The night went so well, the whole team worked well together to make the evening so enjoyable for everyone who came.

"We always have a great team spirit and even dressed up! I was amazed by the amount of money we raised and we are ever so grateful to all who participated and our sponsors.

"This will go towards our future pitch and clubhouse as currently we don’t have a home.”

The evening raised £545 for the club.
