TEN-YEAR-OLD Martha Jackson, from Stanbury, was crowned the National Year 5 girls cross country champion at Prestwold Hall in Loughborough.
Martha represented West Yorkshire at the championships in a field of 255 athletes, comprising the top ten selected runners from each county across the UK.
The Bingley Harrier, who attends Moorfield School in Ilkley, made it a double success as the West Yorkshire team also came first overall.
To cap off a wonderful experience, Martha was presented with her winners' medal by Great Britain star Jenny Meadows, who has won European indoor gold and World Championship bronze at 800 metres.
