THE Soaring Eagles karate team enjoyed themselves in a competition at South Shields - and came home with a gold medal, a silver and five bronzes.
Jayden Booth won the children's six to seven years' kumite, with clubmate Oliver McCann picking up a silver.
Bronzes went to Sensei Oliver Thornton and Amber Brennan in the senior pairs kata, to Ellie Paige Robinson in the mixed 11 to 15 years fourth kyu and below kata, to Rachel Judson-Smith and Lucas Davenport in the eight to nine years' kumite, to Thornton in the senior male 18 plus third kyu and kumite, and Brennan in the senior female 18 plus third kyu and kumite.
The club, who are based at Dalton Mills in Keighley, train on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
They also hope to spread the gospel via a fun day at Cougar Park on Saturday, July 8 (noon-4pm).
