A NAGGING northerly breeze greeted the riders for the Bronte Wheelers-Neophix ten-mile TT on the Cracoe to Skipton and back course, making the longer homeward leg difficult on what is a tough course without conditions making it worse.
The winner once again was Bronte’s Steve Ayers in an excellent time of 21min 43secs. In second place was Bronte’s Steve Lloyd in 24min 25secs and in third place, making it a clean sweep for Bronte, was Ben Cook in 24min 38secs.
Fastest lady was Ilkley CC's Nina Benson in a splendid time of 26min 22 secs, which was fast enough to beat most of the men.
This week’s event on the same course is for road bikes only with no time trial specific bikes allowed, which should make the result interesting to see how the riders' speed is affected.
