IT’S day two of the York Ebor meeting today, with the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks the highlight at 3.35, when it’s impossible to see past the hotpot 1/3 favourite Enable, with Nezwaah taken for the forecast.

De Bruyne Horse warrants respect in the 1.55 opener, followed by the Group 2 Lowther for two-year-old fillies at 2.25, in which William Haggas’ Special Purpose looks great each way value at 8/1, while the same trainer also holds place claims at around the same price with Victory Bond in the 3.00 handicap. Ouja is also interesting in the Listed race at 4.15.

Tomorrow’s feature is the Group 1 Nunthorpe over the minimum trip at 3.35 and, depending on the effect of the draw, it’s hard to see past red hot 7/4fav Battassh, with place claims for Marsha at 8/1.

Game Starter, 7/1, could get punters off to a game start in the 1.55 opener (note also entered Saturday), while Sheikhzayedroad holds lively each way claims at 13/2 in the Group 2 Lonsdale at 2.25. The same can be said about another Haggas runner, Second Thought, 8/1 for the 3.00 handicap.

The Ebor itself holds centre stage on Saturday at 3.35 and Sir Mark Prescott’s Flymetothestars, 8/1, is well fancied. Mount Logas looks great each way value at 20/1, while Nakeeta, 14/1, appears well in at the weights.

Lightnight Spear, 6/1, appeals in the Group 3 opener, along with the best fancied of Aiden O’Brien’s three potential runners in the Gimcrack and Khairaat in the 4.40 handicap.
