SILSDEN'S Sophia Basaraba claimed a top-ten finish as City of Bradford Swimming Club began the new season in the Yorkshire Swimming Association’s Winter Competition at the Leeds-based John Charles Centre for Sport.
Fresh from her double silver medal winning performances at this summer's National Championships, 12-year-old Hermione Rowe, from Addingham, claimed county titles in the 100m freestyle, 50m and 100m butterfly and 50m breaststroke events. Her times of 1.00.28 in the freestyle, 30.71 in the 50m butterfly and 34.64 in the 50m breaststroke were all new club records.
The club's swimmers train with Leisure Services Aquatic Development Programme under the guidance of head coach Andy Pearce and development coach Sarah Fisher.
