MICHAEL Sweeney, of Netherton, made only his second visit to Craven Bowls Club in Skipton and was successful again when he won the ‘32’ organised by the home club.
He had no real problems as he defeated rising star Danny Teale, of Guiseley, 21-9 in fine style. Losing in the semis were James Teale and Joe Stockdale, while also in the money were Barry Robinson, Andrew Gallagher, Luke Teale and Richard Hargreaves, who did best for the locals on a wet day played on a green in good condition.
The Skipton Floodlit League has now finished, with three prizes in each section. Colne Cricket A won Division One ahead of Cononley and Gargrave A, while Whinfield A won Division Two by a wide margin in front of Colne Legion A and Rolls Royce.
Cross Hills just hung on to take the Division Three title ahead of Colne Cricket B and Steeton B.
