REBEKAH Tiler is not the average 19-year-old – she was Team GB’s sole woman in the weightlifting team back in 2016 and her achievements haven’t stopped.

The Denholme youngster had a tough 2017 with weightlifting losing its funding at the beginning of the year, but she did not let that dampen her spirit or her performances.

It is that determination and character that has led to her being chosen as Senior Achievers finalist in the Bradford Sports Awards.

The first medal she brought home was a silver medal in the ‘snatch’ at the European Championships in Croatia while finishing fourth overall.

One podium finish was not enough and the ambitious Tiler took part in the IWF World Juniors in the summer.

The competition took part in Tokyo and she became world silver medallist, which is a great achievement and proved her persistence and dedication to the sport she loves.

Her impressive performances have made her a finalist once again for the Bradford Sports Awards 2018.

The glittering event will be held at the Northern Commercial Stadium, Valley Parade on Thursday,March 8.
