Saturday once again proved the weather forecasters wrong and over 750 runners started the Three Peaks race in near perfect conditions.
As expected the £1,000 first prize and the esteem of becoming the World Long Distance Mountain Challenge champion attracted probably the best quality field of its type ever seen in the UK.
The overall winner of the race was Jethro Lennox of Shettleston Harriers who finished with a time of 2.53.39.
Former Keighley man Rob Jebb (Bingley Harriers), who won the race the last three years, finished fourth in 2.59.13.
Andy Peace of Keighley (Bingley Harriers), the record holder for the fastest time, finished tenth this year in 3.04.47.
Ian Holmes of Haworth (Bingley Harriers) came in 23rd overall in 3.11.39 but was the fifth MV40 to cross the finish line.
