Keighley Albion 10 Halifax Irish 41
Keighley Albion suffered a beating at the hands for Halifax Irish in the final of the Halifax ARL Joseph Fee Memorial Trophy on Saturday.
Keighley Albion's Richard Fryers gave credit to a very strong fellow Premier Division outfit, saying: "We were beaten by a better side on the day."
Albion got off to a good start, preventing the league champions from scoring early on and actually taking the lead after 15 minutes.
Albion moved the ball out wide to Andy Stokes, who came in from full back and scored an unconverted try from 30 yards out.
Albion held on to their 4-0 lead for a few minutes before the Irish scored three converted tries and a drop goal to take a 19-4 lead at half-time.
Albion knew it would be important to score first in the second half but defences were on top for the first 15 minutes until Halifax scored a converted try to seal the game.

Albion replied with a brilliant solo try by Bobby Brown, which was converted by Danny Bowness.
Irish scored three more tries, two of which were converted, to make the final scoreline 41-10.
Fryers said that both Stokes and Matthew Mount put in good performances for Albion.
He added: "Overall we've had a reasonably good season without winning anything.
"We were fourth in the league, made it to two cup semi-finals and one cup final."
