TWO rugby league personalities are due to make special appearances in Cougars’ new club shop.

Maurice Oldroyd and Geoff Lee will be carrying out book signings on Saturday, December 13 (from 10.30am to 3pm) at the store, which is located on the premises of A1 Stairlifts Services on South Street in Keighley.

Oldroyd was a key person involved in the development of the amateur game since the foundation of the British Amateur Rugby League Association (BARLA) in 1973. His biography, launched this year, is called Building The Family Game – A Rugby League Memoir.

Lee is the author of five novels all inspired by the old saying about work that “They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller.”

His latest novel Two Seasons: Work, Family, Old Friends and Rugby League is set in the 2002 and 2003 campaigns.

Meanwhile, Keighley’s Christmas Party will be on Sunday, December 14 at 2.30pm in the Cougars Bar.

Fans are invited to meet the squad for 2015 and special guest Santa will be there to meet the kids.
