Keighley Cougars 26 Swinton Lions 33

COUGARS slumped to their third straight defeat after losing to League One rivals Swinton Lions.

Richard Hawkyard and Stuart Littler touched down for the visitors before Keighley narrowed the gap through Jesse Sheriffe’s try.

Swinton full back Chris Atkin restored a two-try advantage and Jimmy Rowland scored twice either side of half-time to put Swinton in firm control.

Gavin Duffy went over from Danny Jones’ cross-field kick but Connor Dwyer fought over from dummy half two minutes later for Swinton, who then lost Mike Morrison to the sinbin for leading with the elbow.

Matt Bailey crossed after clever play by Luke Haigh, with Paul White breaking down the left wing to race over in the corner from the restart before Danny Lawton broke to send Duffy over again.

But Ben White slotted over a drop goal to open up a seven-point gap and assure Swinton would be making the trip home victorious.
