COUGARS chairman Gary Fawcett admits the club could look to sign Bradford duo Adam Brook and Samir Tahraoui on a permanent basis.

Tahraoui this week joined Bulls team-mate Brook in extending his loan spell at Cougar Park until the end of the season.

The news was a major boost to Paul March’s promotion-chasing squad and Fawcett says Cougars would consider making them fully-fledged Keighley players.

The pair have made an impressive impact during their loan spells so far and Fawcett said: “To secure Adam and Samir for the rest of the season is really pleasing.

“It maintains the impetus we have and has bolstered our promotion prospects.

“We were arguably a bit light in the forwards but Samir has provided size and Adam has come in and worked really well alongside Tiger (Paul Handforth).

“Signing them for next season on permanent deals would certainly be something we would look at.

“That would obviously be up to Samir, Adam and Bradford Bulls as well, but we’re pleased with the way they have gone so far.

“If they carry on as they are then we will definitely be having conversations with them as early as possible about next season. They are certainly on our list to sign.”

Meanwhile, Cougars will continue to scour the market for potential new recruits for this season.

“We remain on the look-out for further players,” said Fawcett.

“I met with Bradford chairman Marc Green and managing director Steve Ferres this week and the Bulls haven’t got anyone else available right now.

“But we will look to strengthen wherever possible to give us the best chance of achieving our goal of finishing top.”

Fawcett said Cougars’ relationship with the Bulls was blossoming, adding: “Bradford want to be successful but they are also keen to develop rugby league in the immediate area.

“They are helping us with our bid for a community development officer so we are working with them not only on a playing basis, but with community development too.

“The Bulls’ management team are keen to work with us and that’s great.”
