COUGARS' reserve side’s 2015 competitive season came to an end with a comprehensive 80-6 defeat at Leigh Centurions.
The lack of players, which has dogged the second half of this campaign, meant that coach Dean Muir had to start the game in the halves.
Despite going toe to toe with their full-time opponents for the opening quarter of an hour, the game went in similar fashion to that between the two last month.
A Mitch Cox hat-trick was followed by braces from Josh Swift and Harry Gagen.
Corey Lee, Jake Knox, Eze Harper, Sam Baggaley, Declan Gregory, Tom Roughley and first-teamer Matt Sarsfield all crossed for a try apiece as Leigh destroyed Keighley.
There was a brief moment of joy for Muir’s side on the half-time hooter when James Morton powered his way over next to the posts to the delight of a healthy away following.
