PAUL March is expecting a tough test tomorrow evening (6pm) as Cougars get back to business in the league after their cup-winning exploits.

Keighley go into their home clash with Newcastle Thunder on a high after beating York City Knights to lift the iPro Sport Cup at Blackpool last week.

They now turn their attentions back to their main objective – gaining promotion – after faltering with a surprise defeat at London Skolars in their last League One clash.

Heach coach March said: “We enjoyed ourselves on Saturday night and then went back to work on Tuesday to prepare like we always do.

“It’s going to be a tough game against Newcastle. I know they lost heavily to York (in their last league game) but they’ve had some good results. We’re just going to concentrate on ourselves, make sure what we do is right and I’m sure we’ll be up for it.”

Cougars are set to welcome Jode Sheriffe back after he missed the trip to the capital due to a minor operation before narrowly missing out in Blackpool too.

Neil Cherryholme could also be set to return, with Aussie Brendon Rawlins doubtful after picking up a knock in the final.

Newcastle could hand a debut to former Cougar loanee Tyler Dickinson, who arrived this week from Huddersfield Giants. Fran Welsh and Ali Blair are both pushing for places in Michael Mantelli’s 17 after missing out on the 36-4 home defeat to York a fortnight ago.

Kieran Moran will feature once more as he remains on dual-registration terms from Hull Kingston Rovers.

Thunder's defeat to York took place in front of 3,000 fans at Newcastle's Kingston Park as a curtain raiser to Super League's Magic Weekend.

Thunder coach Mantelli said: “In our game against York we choked big time. We didn’t front up to the big game experience and a couple of big guns didn’t do what they were meant to do.

“Keighley are a good team, they’ve won the iPro Cup so it’s going to be a tough game for us.”

Top try-scorer Thomas Reudiger is likely to be one of Newcastle's biggest threats but the full-back could meet his match in Cougars counterpart Ritchie Hawkyard.

Tomorrow's match is part of a family fun day at Cougar Park from 3pm.
