HIGHLY-RATED Cougars prospect Jamel Goodall has signed for an unnamed Super League club.

The 19-year-old utility forward has activated a release clause in his contract club which will allow him to be transferred.

The Super League club has asked to remain unnamed at this time due to their involvement in the current Super Eights campaign.

Goodall joined the Cougars’ reserves side midway through the 2015 campaign and enjoyed a man of the patch performance on his debut against Wales in the Danny Jones Memorial Game.

From there he was handed a two-year deal by Paul March and made his League One debut for the club in the victory over Newcastle Thunder in June.

He then spent a month on loan at the University of Gloucestershire All Golds.

Upon his return from Cheltenham, Goodall made a further appearance in Cougars’ Super Eights defeat away at Toulouse Olympique in July.

The club added in a statement: “The club would like to thank ‘Jamma’ for his services and wish him all the best in this new chapter of his career.”

Meanwhile, new head coach Craig Lingard has today confirmed the appointment of James Feather and Brendon Rawlins as joint club captains.

Feather and Rawlins have served the last two seasons as senior and junior club captain under Paul March, helping the club through the death of Danny Jones and the iPro Sport Cup triumph in May in Blackpool.

Lingard has spoken to the pair and has now confirmed them as joint club captains for the 2017 season.

2017 will see Feather make his 300th appearance for Cougars while Rawlins will enter his testimonial season with the club.
