ROSS PELTIER is sacrificing two months’ worth of pay in order to pursue his dream of making the grade at Bradford Bulls.

The hulking prop has joined his hometown club on a two-year deal after spending the past few seasons at Cougars.

Peltier spent time in the academy at Bradford as a youngster and is delighted to have rejoined the club he grew up supporting.

He does not officially start life as a Bradford player until early November but has embarked on an intense fitness programme to get fully up to speed.

Peltier said: “I want to get in the best possible shape for the start of pre-season because that will give me the best chance of succeeding.

“I took the decision myself to sacrifice two months of whatever I would have earned to just train and work as hard as I can.

“It's a leap of faith but hopefully it will pay off.

“I began coming in to the Bulls one day a week but that increased to two or three because Rohan Smith wants to integrate me with the boys and get a feel for the club.

“I'm working in the gym with all the lads and I'm enjoying it a lot.

“I've got some targets and I'm well on track with them.

“With the programmes I've been doing in my own time, coupled with the work I'm doing here at the Bulls, then I think I have dramatically changed.

“I've lost a lot of weight as well, so everything is going in the right direction.”

Peltier, who will represent Jamaica later this year, added: “We were all disappointed with how it ended at Keighley this year because we wanted to make the play-offs.

“Things that happened behind closed doors contributed to stuff falling apart near the end.

“We won the iPro Sport Cup but, as the season went on, certain things were happening and it just fell apart really.”
