BRADFORD Bulls will travel to Keighley Cougars on Sunday, January 29, with the intention of taking the Joe Phillips Memorial Trophy off the hosts.

It will be the first meeting between the derby rivals since 2012, when a Bulls under-20 side lost to a full-strength Keighley 28-12, also at Cougar Park.

Former Cougars player Ross Peltier, who joined the Bulls last month, can thus expect to return to his old stamping ground, providing he is in Rohan Smith’s squad.

The match will be the final outing for Smith and the team ahead of the 2017 season, with two more January friendlies expected to be announced before the New Year.

Ticket prices for the Cougars v Bulls clash, which are only available on the day of the game are: Adults, £10; concessions (over-60s and students), £5; Juniors (17 and under), £1.

Meanwhile, the Bulls' fixture for the Kingstone Press Championship Summer Bash has been confirmed.

They will meet newly-relegated Hull KR at Bloomfield Road ground on Saturday, May 27 (7pm) in what will be the Robins' first involvement in the Blackpool extravaganza.

The League One Cup final will kick-off the first-day programme (noon) in what will be the third year at the seaside resort.

A record crowd of just under 16,000 fans attended the Summer Bash, which will again be televised live by Sky Sports, in 2016.

RFL chief operating officer Ralph Rimmer said: “The Summer Bash is always a fantastic event and one that many fans love to attend.

"Last year 16,000 passionate fans came to Blackpool and watched some outstanding action.

"The game between Leigh and Bradford was one of the most exciting games of 2016, and I am certain that some of the pairings this year will provide some memorable matches.

“It is always a memorable weekend showcasing the Kingstone Press Championship and the very best of League One, and we are all very proud to be taking it back to Blackpool in 2017.”
