HAMISH Barnes is expected to make his second 'debut' for Cougars at Coventry Bears on Sunday after returning to the club last week.

The Jamaican international centre left Keighley at the end of last year to join Dewsbury Rams but, having scored one try in eight appearances for the Championship side, the centre is back at Cougar Park.

It is a welcome boost to Craig Lingard's ranks, which have been depleted by the loss of Ritchie Hawkyard for two months.

The half-back was operated on last week after X-rays revealed he had broken his jaw, eye socket and cheekbone following a clash of heads with Hunslet's Jimmy Watson.

Emmerson Whittel is back in full training, having recovered from a broken jaw himself, but he is still a couple of weeks away.

With Cougars also hosting Barrow just three days after the Coventry clash, Lingard may need to rotate some of his squad.

Keighley's reserves also entertain Scotland Students on Saturday (3pm).

The match is part of the visitors' preparation for this year's Student World Cup in Australia.

Cougars are set to play a strong side and the club are hoping for a good crowd. Entry is just £5.
