EMMERSON Whittel is set to return to action for Cougars Reserves on Saturday – a month ahead of schedule after a suffering a broken jaw in the controversial Challenge Cup win at Fryston Warriors in February.
The second-row forward has made a quicker than expected recovery following the injury sustained in a brawl which marred the third-round tie.
Whittel, who needed surgery to realign and repair his jaw, is one of a number of first-team players made available to Scott Lindsey for Saturday’s game against Scotland Students, who are coached by Cougars assistant Nathan Graham.
Keighley Reserves duo Gavin Reed and Luke Walters are set to feature in opposition as a part of the Scotland side.
The game is a 3pm kick off at Cougar Park with admission prices set at £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £1 for juniors.
