BRENDON Rawlins hosted a successful testimonial golf day at Branshaw Golf Club in Oakworth.

The Australian forward is celebrating a decade with the Cougars this season and the event was the latest in a long line of events to raise money for his testimonial year and the Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund.

A total of 19 teams featuring Cougars players, staff, sponsors and supporters, as well as friends of Rawlins, golfers and his testimonial committee took to the course in the mixed conditions of rain and sunshine.

Following the completion of the round, Cougars half-back Liam Darville impressed with his cooking abilities on the barbecue while an event was held in the clubhouse which featured entertainment from singer Georgia Farrar.

None of those competing managed to score a hole in one, therefore missing out on prizes including a car, two mini golf breaks and two sets of golf clubs.

“It’s been a cracking event and one I’ve been looking forward to since I started with my testimonial,” said Rawlins.

“We held Buster’s (James Feather) golf day up here in 2013 and everyone just loves it. The lads had a few beers and even though the weather wasn’t too bad, it was a bit windy. But overall it was a really good day.”

Rawlins will be hosting ‘A Night With The Rhinos’ featuring Leeds Rhinos legends Rob Burrow, Keith Senior and Jamie Jones-Buchanan on October 28 at Victoria Hall, with tickets priced at £30.
