DANNY Lawton and Adam Brook are among the players leaving Cougars from this year's first-team squad.

Sean Kelly and Liam Darville also depart as coach Craig Lingard continues to formulate his new playing roster for 2018.

Centre Lawton will not be offered a new deal, bringing to an end seven years of service at Keighley in which he made 118 appearances, scoring 576 points as well as being a part of the 2011 Championship One promotion winning side and 2016 iPro Sport Cup triumph.

He spent time on loan this year at Hemel Stags, who have been linked with a permanent move for him.

Half-back Adam Brook will also depart Cougar Park after two and a half years, having initially joined on loan in May 2015 from Bradford Bulls before making his move permanent at the end of that year.

Brook made 44 appearances for Keighley, scoring 183 points and was a member of the 2016 iPro Sport Cup winning team.

Homegrown hooker Kelly was part of the club’s scholarship and reserves programmes before making his first-team debut in 2013. Despite suffering an ACL injury in May 2015 that ruled him out of action for 20 months, he still made 19 appearances, scoring six tries.

Reserves product Darville leaves after five years within the ranks in which he scored nine tries in 22 appearances for the first team. He won an iPro Sport Cup winners medal in 2016 after playing the full 80 minutes at stand-off in the Blackpool final.

Josh Casey leaves Cougar Park after making one senior appearance against Toronto in March and having spent the majority of the 2017 season on loan at Hemel Stags.

Keighley have delayed the decision on the future of Emmerson Whittel due to uncertainty over how long he is likely to be sidelined for. The back-rower sustained an ACL injury in July’s victory over Oxford RL.

Reserves player of the year Kieran Smith is joining League One rivals Hemel Stags, while 2016 award winner Lewis Davey has joined amateur outfit Gateshead Storm.

James Pickering has not been offered a deal for the 2018 season, having suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the Reserves' victory over South Wales Ironmen in June. However, the player is welcome to continue his rehabilitation from injury with the club’s medical staff.

As confirmed prior to the end of the season, club captain James Feather, Neil Cherryholme and Ben Sagar are retiring from the game.

Other already confirmed departures are that of Vinny Finigan, Will Milner and Callum Dunne.

Milner and Dunne have since joined Huddersfield Rugby Union Club and amateur outfit King Cross Park respectively.

Lingard is still putting his squad together for 2018 with new additions to date being Trae O'Sullivan, Benn Hardcastle, Joe Lumb, Ryan Wright, Aaron Nicholson and Lewis Fairhurst.
