ALBION returned to winning ways with their biggest victory in the four years they have been playing.

Encouraged to move the ball wide at every opportunity, the hosts scored a number of their tries down the flanks with Riley Corby scoring five tries and running the visitors defence ragged all day.

Lewis Bloodworth weighed in with a hat-trick, to add to his fantastic tackle count. Caleb McConville was on the try hunt again, with another double after his two tries against York Acorn the previous week. He also kicked 11 conversions from 12 attempts for a personal haul of 30 points.

Reece Smollen was back amongst the tries with a double including a great intercept and Ben McParland crashed over in the second half as well as dishing out some tough tackling.

While there will be undoubtedly be more difficult fixtures ahead, the coaches were delighted with the fact that the opposition did not cross the Albion line.

Albion returned to action after two blank Saturdays but came unstuck in a blustery wind at lowly Raiders.

They conceded an early try and struggled to assert themselves against a side on top of their game.

A ten-point interval deficit still gave Albion plenty to play for, but it was late in the match before they really got close to the line.

Harry Webster was only stopped on a galloping run by a brave last-ditch tackle before Josh Charnock went over in the corner with three minutes remaining.

The match awards, on a day when Albion were reminded they could expect no easy games in their division, went to Webster, Charnock, Xander McConville and Matty Smith.

Drighlington u-12s 24 Keighley Albion u-12s 14

Poor defending by Albion allowed three quick tries which ultimately cost them in this tense semi-final.

Seth Benn demonstrated his class with two superb tries and solid defensive work gave Keighley the advantage with great runs by Phil Sabin.

In-form Marcus Scargill tore through the defence to touch down only for it to be disallowed.

A string of decisions then went against Albion, allowing the home side to increase their lead. Scargill scored a well-deserved try late in the game before Drighlington scored again.

Benn took the plaudits, claiming three of the individual match awards.

ALBION played host to Brotherton in a game saw the lead switching hands.

Benjamin Horsfield and Hamza Butt both scored hat-tricks for Albion with the outstanding Alfie McGrace and Aaron Horner scoring Albion's other tries.
