Pennine League 11-a-side Division: Worth Village 12 Lock Lane 54
WITH only 11 players, Worth struggled in the first 15 minutes against the leaders, who ran in several tries.
This didn't stop Village though, with man of the match Jake Young storming over the whitewash after beating four players.
Lock Lane's youngsters kept putting the pressure on but Village tried their best to keep them at bay, with strong defence from Hafiz Karim and Quinton Sneyd.
Worth started the second half with some great set moves coming from Craig Morphet and Rocky McNulty to get close to the line. This laid the platform for Jake Feather to score his second try of the game.
Lock Lane came back with some great offloads and well-timed passes to score more tries. But Village veteran Gary Baker and young Connor Caveney kept going with some great defence.
Worth Village visit Lock Lane in the reverse fixture on Saturday.
