KEIGHLEY, buoyed by their superb defensive display last Saturday in a 28-0 victory at Leeds Medics & Dentists, could have two first-team stalwarts back before long.

Director of rugby Graeme Sheffield said: "We hope that Stuart Inman (knee) will be able to play in the second team game at Selby on Saturday, while it is hoped that Alex Brown (shoulder) can return in a couple of weeks after testing himself in a more non-physical position of full back."

Keighley's fourth SSE Yorkshire Division Two win of the season was built on the visitors' tenacity, and particularly that of centres Adam Horsfall and Danny McGee.

"It was one of our most pleasing performances of the season," said Sheffield.

"Medics are a very, very difficult side to beat and we spent a lot of time in our half but we managed to slow down their ball.

"It was also pleasing that Josh Hannah and Leigh Sugden got over for two tries apiece as the pack played well, and particularly the back row.

"Leigh, who is our best forward, was playing in the second row but he would play like a back row even if he was on the wing!"

On Saturday, Keighley host seventh-placed Leodiensian, who are just five points ahead having played a game more. Dave Needham comes in at scrum half in place of 17-year-old Sam Chilvers.

Sheffield said: "Dave should have played for us last Saturday but his son was ill in Southampton, so Sam came in and did well, but he still has two school games to play for Woodhouse Grove and so is unavailable."
