Pocklington 14 Keighley 10
Keighley were lucky to gain a losing bonus point, but the loss of their inspirational captain Leigh Sudden to a shoulder injury did not help their cause.
Pocklington took advantage and were direct in their approach, putting the Keighley defence under a great deal of pressure.
As a result they gained two penalties, converted by winger Nick Bennett.
The visitors were unable to gain any quality possession and relied on their excellent defence to keep out a number of promising attacks.
The Pocklington forwards, playing with aggression, drove play deep into the corner, which allowed winger Billy Hardy the space he needed to cross.
In the second half Keigh-ley played with greater spirit but, once again, found it difficult to gain decent possession.
Pocklington were camped in away territory for extended periods but only gained a further penalty from Bennett.
Keighley countered with a difficult penalty from Ben Blackwell. A break out of defence and an inch-perfect pass from winger Adam Horsfall set outside half Alex Brown on a long run to score in the corner, Black-well converting.
However, the hosts held on for victory.
