KEIGHLEY'S team for their big SSE Yorkshire Division Two derby at home to Bradford Salem on Saturday is in the lap of the Gods.

"We have one or two injuries but if everything goes right, we will have a very decent side to pick from and some interesting selection decisions to make," admitted Keighley's director of rugby Graeme Sheffield.

"If things go half right, we will be picking from about what we have at the moment but if things all go badly in terms of injuries, we could be struggling."

At the heart of Keighley's bid to hand leaders Salem their first league defeat of the season are experienced duo Danny McGee and Leigh Sugden, who both missed last Saturday's16-12 defeat at Barnsley.

Sheffield added: "Danny is one of those who we are waiting for confirmation from.

"We could have won both of our last two matches, and got five points against West Park Leeds and four against Barnsley, but as it happens we only got one point.

"It is all about converting our chances. Salem haven't been beaten this season and are top of the table for a reason but there is no doubting the effort of our players and we are confident that we will give them a game."

* Keighley are officially opening their gymnasium, which is attached to the clubhouse, a week on Saturday before the home league match against Knottingley.

"Everybody who has helped in any way will be getting an invitation," said Keighley's director of rugby Graeme Sheffield, "which means there should be a good crowd.

"We have built the gym right and we are down to the finishing touches now."
