Knottingley 15, Keighley 29
Keighley finished their regular season SSE Yorkshire Division One league fixtures with a well-earned victory at Knottingley yesterday.
It secured a promotion play-off at Durham & Northumberland Division One runners-up Alnwick next Saturday.
In the first half, playing with pace and skill, Keighley overpowered Knottingley, racking up over 20 points in just over 20 minutes through tries from captain Leigh Sugden and two from outstanding full back Danny McGee.
Alex Brown added the extras with a penalty and three conversions, and Knottingley's only reply was a penalty for scrum half Steven Rockett.
In the second half, Keighley weathered early Knottingley pressure and gained a second try for No 8 Leigh Sugden.
Knottingley raised their game and finished strongly with well-taken tries for winger Liam Bradley and scrum half Rockett, who also added a conversion.
