BOLTON COUNCIL
Statutory Notice to reduce the age range at Washacre Primary School.
Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Bolton Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to reduce the age range of Washacre CP School, Clough Avenue, Westhoughton, Bolton Bolton Council is proposing to reduce the current age range of the school from 1st January 2018. The effect of the proposal will be to change the age of the school from the existing 2-11 year old provision, to a reduced 4-11 year old provision and thus removing the existing early years and nursery provision from the roll of the school. However, to ensure that nursery education continues to be provided at Washacre, it is proposed that this will be replaced with an alternative Governor led nursey provision. This alternative provision will be established immediately once the existing provision ceases to ensure continuity of early year's education and to avoid any disruption to families and their young children.
