KEIGHLEY does seem to attract its share of critics – some from within the community, many from outside.
But while the town – like countless others – undoubtedly has its problems, there is also much to be proud of.
There are probably fewer empty shop units in the centre of Keighley now than for some years. And the retail offering attracts people from a wide area.
A further boost is on the horizon with the news Keighley is seeking to create a Business Improvement District, which potentially would see more than £1 million ploughed into the town centre to draw in more visitors and investment.
Those behind the initiative should be commended for efforts already devoted to the venture, which deserves our wholehearted support.
