TIME flies so they say, and it certainly does not feel like 29 years since I had the honour to be appointed fundraiser at the Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice in Oxenhope – but it certainly is!

St David's Day – March 1, 1989 –and so began probably some of the happiest days of my life, working or otherwise.

Today you local folk give, like in my days, marvellous support to this most wonderful of places and for that even to this day I say thank you.

There are so many deserving causes, but even from a few miles away I can still appreciate your efforts to keep the doors at Oxenhope open.

My family and I get along to the coffee club in Haworth when we can to see its great efforts on behalf of the hospice, still to this day so magnificently led by Mrs Cooper and hosted by the White Lion.

Wonderful, wonderful people who always need that little more support if at all possible.

I know the present-day supporters will do their level best to raise even more of the much-needed income.

Thank you.
