I WAS puzzled the other week to see workmen out on the A629, engaged in repainting those yellow lines at the approaches to the Kildwick and Steeton roundabouts.
Given that these are there in order to warn us to start slowing, I have to question their costly renewal since the bone-shaking, unrepaired, multi-potholed surface of that road already ensures that we approach at a snail’s pace.
