THIS IS a joke. Demolishing a perfectly good building that undoubtedly could be used as a police station – Police ‘could come back to town centre’ (Keighley News, July 19).
The lower ground floor can be used as a car park for police vehicles.
Will the money from the sale of the police station on Royd Ings Avenue be used to pay for the alterations – £500,000 to the town station, plus the sale of the old police station on North Street could be added to the figure?
Originally when the police station on North Street was vacated, the police promised that there would be a police presence located in the town hall. That didn’t happen either.
Where is Bradford Council going to get the money for this idea?
Who is going to take responsibility for the waste of taxpayers’ money?
