I WONDER if any readers have taken the short walk from Cliffe Castle, down East Avenue to the iron bridge?
Those of us who walk down there regularly will have seen the amazing artwork which has been created by a group of young people from Keighley and, most importantly, it uses their own words.
Some forms of the media sadly seem to believe it to be more newsworthy to report the more sensational stories around knife crime, etc. Being an octogenarian, and always travelling by foot or on the bus, in my experience most young people are caring, friendly and helpful.
If you visit the iron bridge, I hope that like me you will feel uplifted and hopeful that this small town in which we live will continue to be as it is – a great, friendly multicultural little town, with a strong sense of community. And as the words on the iron bridge are the voice of the young, our future promises to be in good hands.
