THE proposed permanent closure of the Queensbury Tunnel is yet another example of democracy not in action – a decision even more baffling from an establishment that promotes a 'green agenda'.
It never ceases to amaze me that funds for our historic infrastructure are limited while plenty of our taxes fund vanity projects and minority schemes.
At least 10 men died constructing the tunnel; closing it is not the legacy they would have envisaged.
